No-Comply 180 : A one-footed 180 where the front foot plants on the ground and the back foot pops the board 180 degrees and then the plant foot is brought back onto the board.
In other words, staying grounded and using that to get serious air while moving forward with flair. Sounds like a pretty approach to more than skateboarding, yeah? Easier said than done in all cases, but worth shooting for.
This is an editorial/reportage personal project I did with stylist Liza Collis. I'm interested in photos that ride the line between reportage and editorial, where it's unclear what's created and what's captured. We had a blast with our model, who happily hammed it up with the skaters who are regulars at the Rhode Island Ave park. We fell a little bit in love with their swag; you can't coach that special blend of cool and confidence, which brought a new vibe to the work.
