I'm REALLY EXCITED to share an 8-page feature I shot for the brand-new Washingtonian Mom Magazine (@WashMOMMag)! Created by the amazing teams at Washingtonian Magazine and the design firm Design Army, the magazine is a fun, fresh take on what it means to be a stylish mom in the District. From advice about great activities (trapeze lessons!) to beauty regimes and style, the magazine reminds us that being a mother, careerist, and individual are possible to do simultaneously - and that being happy with yourself makes you a better mother. I love that!
I've been shooting for Washingtonian for a while, and I was excited to work with Design Army; with a history of clean layouts, stunning graphics, and awesome typography, I really admire their work.
Washingtonian brought me on board to shoot an 8-page feature called Mom Crushes in the premiere issue of the magazine. For each shoot, I took portraits of each Mom Crush with her kids and then styled their favorite shoes, bags, accessories, and beauty products into quirky little still life shots. So much fun!
I'll be releasing my favorite outtakes from each of the four shoots each day this week. First up is Jessica Boulanger, founder of More of Me Maternity who was utterly glamorous and had an incredible attention to detail in her home. Her Instagram is also making my life right now. Enjoy!
