I started GoKateShoot as a forum for my photographic work and the site quickly developed to reflect my passion for style. Growing up sewing with my mother and later studying the history of couture, I was fortunate to gain a deep appreciation for quality fashion. GoKateShoot strives to find the beauty around us, notice tiny details, and document all of my favorite fabulous frippery at once! I hope to inspire others to engage more aesthetically in their own worlds, and to bring that back and share it on the site.
As a spontaneous and often excitable person, I enjoy the social experience photography affords me and love translating my studio art background into dynamic, dramatic images. I apprenticed with fine art and editorial photographers in Barcelona, Istanbul, New York, Vermont, and Washington, DC, spending time behind and in front of the lens to develop an experienced eye for composition and movement. I shoot style-oriented portrait, fashion, editorial, and travel work, capturing charming images that evoke an energetic and aesthetic lifestyle.
I am based in Washington, DC, where I live in a big Victorian townhouse full of plants with my interior-design guru cousin and two kitties named Lily and Oliver.
