Her Creative Life: Schwanda Rountree

May 22, 2013

As one of the very first people I had the pleasure of meeting after moving to DC (within the first week!), graphic designer Andrea Pippins has inspired me for a long time with her creativity, drive, and ability to bring together empowered women. After she featured me on her column Fly Style back in 2011 (yikes, timewarp!) we searched for the right project to work together on, so when she proposed partnering up to shoot a series on ambitious creative women called Her Creative Life, I was excited.

The First Feature

Our first feature was released TODAY, so I'm pleased to present our photos and interview with art consultant Schwanda Roundtree. I've since had the pleasure of photographing Schwanda for another editorial client, and can vouch that this woman has real-deal style, wit, and creative smarts exhibited perfectly through her company, Rountree Art Consulting. As if that weren't enough, she serves on the Contemporaries Steering Committee at the Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Executive Committee for the James A. Porter Colloquium on African American Art at Howard University. And style on top of all that? Phew!

Check out her awesome style and insights in Andrea's thoughtful post by checking out the feature HERE. Of course, you can see more photos there, along with my favorite outtakes that I included here.
